Hey friends! I hope everyone is having a terrific week. Today is National Lemonade day! Lemonade is so refreshing on a hot summer day. I also love the different types of lemonade you can make: pink lemonade, strawberry lemonade, peach. Yum!

Here are 4 activities you can do to celebrate Lemonade Day with your Pre-Kinders:

1. Lemonade Stand Dramatic Play Set up a lemonade stand for students. They will enjoy taking the play lemons and making lemonade for their classmates. Students will practice their counting skills by counting the lemons. They’ll also discuss the color of lemons and how lemons feel. The students will also use their cash register to cash their partner out.

2. Lemon Circle Time The teacher will use a play lemon for circle time. If you’re holding the lemon, you can talk. Everyone else will listen. Students can share if they’ve ever had a lemon or lemonade before, and what they thought of it. The students can also name another word that starts with “L” like lion or lego.

3. Lemon Sensory Table – The teacher will fill the sensory table with play lemons or some artificial lemon slices. Teachers/parents can write sight words on the lemons. Students will search for lemon slices and identify the word or letter. Teachers can also hide some magnetic letters in the table and students will practice saying the letter to their partner.

4. Make Lemonade – Students will love helping their teacher make lemonade. Feel free to have lemonade as part of your snack for the day. Students will help measure and count all the ingredients as you add them. Here’s the Country Time Lemonade mix you can buy. Students will feel refreshed and ready to continue learning!

Have a fantastic Friday! Don’t forget to have a glass of lemonade today 🙂
